How many times have you seen an ad or ran across someone promoting “Get paid for taking online surveys”? I have been seeing more of these lately. It almost seems like they run their ads based on the changes of the seasons.
Since this new emergence of ads, I have decided to look into one of these. Today, I am reviewing Goldopinions.com online survey opportunity. We will discuss what it is, how it works, can you make money at it, and then my favorite online business opportunity.
Is Gold Opinion just another online program that you pay monthly fees to and not make any money? Let’s see what we can find out.

The idea of making money online completing surveyors seems easy enough, but how do these programs really work?
What these online survey companies do is provide you with a list of survey opportunities. Some may be general product surveyors that anyone can complete such as comparing fast food restaurants. Others are very specific to age groups, ethnicity, having children within a certain range, or having a specific medical condition.
They all charge a fee for their services. Some charge 20-30% on surveys that you take through them, but Gold Opinion charges a flat $27. This can work to your advantage if you are taking large numbers of surveys each month.
They say that the average survey will take you 20 minutes to complete and you will be paid $5 to $10 for each survey. Let’s look at this. You take surveys that pay $5 each, so the first five and a half surveys will pay your monthly fee.
If you took six surveys at $5 each, that would pay you $30. The companies that take 30% commission for their fee, would take $9, this leaves you with $21 for you. Go ahead read that again before continuing.
With the average survey of 20 minutes at 6 surveys, you are working your first two hours to pay the fee. In other words, your first two hours of work are done for free.
Your break even point between the $27 fee and 30% commission would be:
18 surveys X $5 each = $90.00 – $27 fee = $63.00
18 surveys X $5 each = $90.00 – 30% commission = $63.00
This is just an example based on $5 survey and 30% commission. If you make more per survey or pay less commission, these numbers will change.

- You can make money online doing surveys
- If you qualify for the more specific surveys, they pay better and you can make more per survey, these may take longer to complete
- Surveys can be completed anytime
- Take as many as you qualify for
The Bad:
- The fees charged, whether monthly or commission – you will need to be able to complete enough surveys to cover these and make it worth your time
- You may not be able to take many surveys depending on what the requirements are
- The higher paid surveys require more time and usually have specific requirements
- Most surveys will be available for a limited time or to a limited number of participants

This program is designed for anyone looking to make a little extra money from home. It could be great for someone who is retired and needs a little extra income or even a college student.
You must be at least 18 to complete online surveys and live in one of the 150+ countries they work with.

My Final Opinion of Gold Opinion
In my opinion, you can make some money completing online surveys through Gold Opinion. As I showed in my example above, you would need to complete six of the $5 surveys just to cover your monthly membership fee.
If you are able to complete a large number of surveys or the higher paying ones, then this may not be a bad way to earn some extra money.
